Networking in the 21st Century part I

What is Networking?

Networking is connecting and sharing information and resources with others to help each of you reach specific goals. Your personal network might include personal friends and family in addition to corporate and not-for-profit executives. When you help others through your network you will inevitably help yourself as well.

What’s all the buzz about “creativity” these days? Who (or what) is TED? What does all this have to do with me?

Those were some of the questions that ran through my head when several of my colleagues at the Ridgefield Library came to me over a year ago with the proposal that we get involved with hosting a creativity conference in Ridgefield. Many meetings and hundreds of emails later, I am beginning to understand. On April 27 & 28, the Library, the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum and the Ridgefield Arts Council, with media sponsor Morris Media Group and other partners, presented “Advancing Creative Thinking: From Imagination to Innovation” – a two-day smorgasbord of keynote presentations, hands-on workshops, panel discussions and conversations, both formal and informal.
