Fairfield County’s Community Foundation is seeking an experienced professional to join a dynamic team dedicated to creating a vital and inclusive community where every individual has the opportunity to thrive. The arts play a key role in achieving the Foundation’s vision and increasing resources for arts organizations and for arts education is a key priority. It is well documented that a vibrant arts environment, open and available to all residents, is a leading indicator of a healthy community.

Program Manager for the Arts in Fairfield County

The Program Manager is a new part-time position at the Community Foundation. The manager will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the biannual Arts Grants cycle, including reviewing the proposals, managing the Arts Committee, administering the successful grants, and monitoring follow-up reports from the grantees.

The manager will lead the fundraising campaign to build a permanent Fund for the Arts. This fund will focus on 3 priorities:

  • Arts education and access
  • Creative innovation
  • Professional capacity building for arts nonprofits

The manager will need to be knowledgeable about all three priority areas and will play a key collaborative role with arts nonprofits, especially in an initiative to pool administrative tasks through the use of shared tools such as market research; financial, fundraising  and legal services; and back-office administration.

 

Qualifications:

  • Poised and confident professional able to work with multiple stakeholders
  • Fundraising experience required
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, arts programs and administration, as well as arts education
  • Familiarity with local arts organizations an additional advantage
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Strong computer and social media skills
  • Marketing experience a plus
  • Foundation and/or grant-making experience an advantage
  • BA degree, preferably in a related field
